Punjab and Haryana High Court refuses to grant protection to wife trying to sanctify her live-in relationship with another man

Case Details:
Case No.: CRWP-8841-2023
Bench: Hon’ble Alok Jain, J.

In yet another case of married woman living in a live-in relationship with another man trying to seek protection to life and liberty, the Hon’ble High Court refuses to grant any protection.

In an interesting case where the wife of one man having child involved in a live-in relationship has approached the Court seeking protection of life and liberty also concealing material facts pertaining to marriage and age of the child from the wedlock and levelling vague allegations just to sanctify and cover her promiscuous relationship with petitioner no. 2.

The wife though entered into a live-in relationship has not filed any divorce petition against her husband who allegedly used to beat her. The wife, petitioner no.1 admitted that she wants to continue both the relationships.

The Hon’ble Court while dismissing the petition observed that such relationship is unknown to the cannons of social fabric, at least in this country.
