Allahabad HC express concern over issue of forged Vakalatnama

The Allahabad High Court while hearing a bail application on Monday 09 August 2021, was shocked due to forgery committed by the lawyers of the applicant while presenting a Vakalatnama with a view to get bail for the accused of rape. The Court appeared anxious and concerned to see the downfall in moral values of legal profession. The Court condemned the lawyers concerned terming it an attempt to damage and jeopardize the image of the legal profession. The Court has given directions to the Registrar General of the High Court to forward a copy of the order to the Chairman of the Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh to take appropriate action against the erring lawyers. The Court also directed to circulate a copy of the order to all sitting judges of the High Court and President of the Allahabad High Court Bar Association and the Advocates Association.
